Description of work and experience
I started working in filmmaking nine years ago. Filmmaking for me is one of the most important methods of human communication. Through films, you can make the world see you, hear you, know about you and about your world. If that is the role of art in general, cinema have this ability to create that blend of all kinds of arts; using image, sound, music, movement and consistency, and most importantly, the presence of the rhythm, which connects between all these elements of the film, and that's what makes filmmaking special. The creation of this rhythm is what I consider my job, as I think that film editing has the ability to manufacture this "magic" by incorporating elements of the film in its own rhythm.
Although I worked in mainstream cinema in Egypt, but my experience lies in what we call independent cinema. They differ from mainstream cinema mainly because of the small budget of films, but this problem frequently attempts to find creative low-cost solutions for all faced problems in the industry, and that helps filmmakers to learn and develop there tools of filmmaking, but it also increases their isolation from the mainstream and eventually make them lose there connection with the audience. I was lucky to have experience with both sides and that made me realize the need to use the creative independent solutions in production, along with the experience of marketing and distribution
