the art of filming and what it means to bring the vision of a director 
to life onscreen.

The relationship between the Director of Photography (D.O.P.) and the film.
How the eye and the brain of the D.O.P. operate.
The technological advancements in Cinematography.
The tools of Cinematography and how to use them.
How to light a scene and the various sources of light.
The relationship between the movement of the camera and the movement of the actor. 

About Mahmoud Lotfy 
Born in 1985, Mahmoud Lotfy is an Egyptian Cinematographer. He studied cinema at the Higher Institute of Cinema in Egypt. The first feature film that he worked on was ‘Heliopolis’. Over the years, he as filmed numerous award winning short movies, feature films and TV series, with some of the industry’s top filmmakers and directors including Mohamed Khan, HalaLotfy, Bassil Ramses and Dina Hamza. Mahmoud also taught cinema and lighting at the Jesuit Cairo Film School from 2008 to 2016 and participated in the filming of numerous short and independent film projects, developed young and aspiring filmmakers, including Moataz Nasr El Din.
